It is a fundamental to try to avoid stress when trying to handle tough conversations.  Try using “I” statements

over “you” statements. “I” clarifies for the other person what you think and how you feel, while ”you” can make the

other person feel criticized. “I” also reduces defensiveness and fosters better communication.
